Senior Carers Begin SVQ First Week Reflections

Our senior carers have started their SVQ learning journey and are now completing their first week reflections.

This is an important step in strengthening practice, confidence and leadership across the care team. Reflective learning helps staff think about what went well, what they noticed during care visits, what could be improved, and how learning can be applied to support safer and more person-led care at home.

During the first week, the focus is on observation, communication, dignity, safeguarding awareness, recording clearly and understanding how everyday care decisions affect outcomes for the people we support.

At Shona Care Ltd, we value ongoing development because good care depends on skilled, thoughtful and confident staff. Supporting senior carers through SVQ learning helps us continue to improve standards, encourage reflective practice and deliver respectful care that adapts to each person’s needs.

We are proud of the team as they begin this stage of their professional development and look forward to seeing their learning shape practice in the weeks ahead.
