Leading with Compassion and Expertise in Personalised and Complex Care Across Scotland

Since 2020, Shona Care Ltd has proudly supported individuals and families across Glasgow and surrounding areas, growing from a small family-run service into a trusted provider of high-quality home care across Scotland.

Founded by a former social worker with extensive experience across local authorities and the third sector, our organisation was built on a clear understanding of what meaningful, safe and person-led care should look like.

Our mission is simple — to provide care that respects, empowers and enhances the lives of the people we support every step of the way.

Care worker providing person-centred support

“We cannot thank Shona Care Ltd enough for the exceptional care provided to my husband during his battle with cancer. The care professionals went above and beyond to support his comfort, dignity and wellbeing. They not only assisted with daily tasks but also provided companionship and emotional support that truly lifted his spirits. Our family remains deeply grateful for their kindness, dedication and compassionate care during such a challenging time.”

The Stuart Family

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Val and the entire team at Shona Care for their invaluable support during a challenging time.
At Mum’s funeral, their presence meant a great deal to us. Val, in particular, played a significant role in providing continuity of care, fostering a strong bond built on trust. Initially, Mom required personal care and assistance, and with the carers’ support, we were able to ensure she received the attention she needed.
Shona care’s rotational care system was immensely beneficial, especially during times when family members were away on holiday, often on short notice. Their commitment to maintaining a clean and tidy household was greatly appreciated, alleviating additional burdens during a difficult period.
We are deeply grateful to the entire team at Shona Care for their dedication and support. Without their assistance, navigating Mom’s care would have been far more challenging. Thank you for your unwavering commitment and for being an integral part of our journey. We will forever cherish your kindness and support.”
Thanks Claire

Shona Care has been a godsend to our family. A consistently reliable team that my mother knows and trusts. There is never a feeling of pressure from the carers, which is a huge contrast to our previous company. The team is happy, relaxed, and always timely, purposefully spending quality time with my mother as well as tending to the non-practical elements of caregiving. Valenta is an exceptional leader, immediately instilling confidence in anyone who meets her; even a five-minute chat with neighbors leaves a positive impression. She is happy to take on board suggestions and cascades these suggestions to her team. Shona Care thrives in the digital world, always staying up to speed digitally, with excellent record-keeping of visits and notes. We have also benefited from the flexibility in the package that Shona Care offers; a combination of morning and evening care when I’m in Scotland, live-in care when I’m not, and overnight care when my mother has been recovering from a hip replacement operation. They go above and beyond and exude an “I can do” attitude, which makes such a pleasant change from our previous care provider.

“Shona Care transformed our family’s life in ways we never thought possible. When my grandmother fell ill and needed round-the-clock care, we were overwhelmed and uncertain about how to proceed. That’s when we turned to Shona-care-ltd, and it was the best decision we ever made.
From the very beginning, Shona Care team showed unparalleled professionalism, empathy, and dedication. They took the time to understand my grandmother’s unique needs and preferences, tailoring their care plan to ensure she received the highest level of personalized attention.
What truly impressed us was the genuine compassion and warmth exhibited by every caregiver who entered our home. They didn’t just provide physical care; they became like extended family members, brightening my grandmother’s days with laughter, companionship, and heartfelt conversations.
Shona care commitment to excellence was evident in every aspect of their service. From maintaining a pristine living environment to coordinating medical appointments and medication management, they handled every detail with precision and care.
Thanks to Shona, my grandmother was able to maintain her independence and dignity while receiving the support she needed to thrive. Their unwavering dedication allowed our family to focus on cherishing every moment together, knowing that my grandmother was in the best possible hands.
I cannot recommend Shona Care highly enough. They are not just caregivers; they are guardian angels who brought light and joy into our lives during a challenging time. Thank you, Shona Care, for your exceptional care and for making a profound difference in our family’s journey.”
