When Yathursan came to Scotland from Sri Lanka, he arrived with limited English and without many familiar faces around him. Like many people who move countries to build a new life, he had to adjust to a new culture, a new way of working, and a new community.
Yathursan joined the care sector with commitment and kindness, supporting others through his role as a carer. But there is another important part of his identity: Yathursan is also a musician.
Music has always been part of who he is. In Sri Lanka, it connected him to his culture, his community and his sense of self. After moving to Scotland, finding that same sense of connection took time.
Recently, Yathursan found a community where he could share his music, his culture and his faith. Seeing him settled, connected and happy is something worth celebrating.
