Senior Care Worker

Senior Care Worker – Various locations within Glasgow –

Salary Range £21,840 – £24,044 (£11.20/hr to £12.33/hr)

Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care: bathing, washing, showering, and preparing meals within a client’s own home.
  • Administer medication *supporting clients to access the community i.e shopping and social activities
  • Oversee and monitor other care workers within your team *liaise with other professional staff in carrying out care plans
  • Take responsibility for the shift while on duty
  • Participate in on-call duties, taking calls and organizing care using our call monitoring system

Essential Information

Should have background experience in health and social care

  • Holds an SVQ2, HNC in Health and social care, or is working towards the qualification, qualification, or equivalent
  • Nursing diploma or other relevant training
  • Good verbal and written communication in English
  • A driving license and car are essential.
  • Proof of right to work in the UK.
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) application and register with the Scottish Social Services
  • Council (SSSC) within 6 months of starting.

Tasks

Senior Care workers should be able:

  1. To look after the physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs of the Clients using a person-centred approach
  2. To observe and promote the Client’s human rights and the principles outlined in the health and social care standards
  3. To evidence that care is based on dignity and respect choice, compassion well-being and responsive to their changing needs
  4. To create and maintain good professional relationships with Clients, their family and friends, and the wider agencies
  5. To actively support and oversee other Care Workers to ensure a high level of care is maintained, maintaining records and reviews.
